Recognizing The Dangers Of Snoring

Humans have peculiarities that may seem funny at first but are actually threatening to one’s health. A fine example is snoring. People often snicker at the sound of another person’s snoring because they have associated it as an embarrassing and annoying sleeping habit some old people have when in reality, it actually is a dangerous health condition that can even put your life in grave danger in your slumber.

Are There Any “Good” Sleep Props?

If you have watched my videos before, you’re probably familiar with the term, “Sleep props.” I use it to describe anything a baby relies on in order to get to sleep, such as rocking, feeding, sucking on a pacifier, car rides, and so on.

You also probably know that I suggest eliminating sleep props from your little one’s bedtime routine so they can learn to fall asleep independently. But does that mean that there is no such thing as a “good” sleep prop?

CPAP Machines Could Decrease Heart Failure Risk

People with sleep apnea, especially those over 60, could decrease their risk of heart failure by using CPAP masks at night to help with breathing, according to new research, reports Medical Xpress.

The study, published Friday in the Journal of the American Heart Association, explored the connection between heart failure and sleep apnea, a condition that goes beyond plain snoring. It’s when a person pauses in breathing five to 30 times or more per hour while sleeping.

Previous studies have tied sleep apnea to heart attacks and strokes, but researchers of the new study focused on the possible link between sleep apnea and heart failure, when the heart isn’t pumping as well as it should be, causing the body to receive less oxygen.

RhinoMed and Columbia Care to Develop Nasally-delivered Cannabis-based Medicines

Melbourne, Australia-based nasal respiratory company Rhinomed has signed a non-binding term sheet with US-based Columbia Care LLC to license Rhinomed’s nasal platform for the delivery of medical cannabis and cannabinoid compounds, analogues, and derivatives.

The non-binding term sheet sets out proposed terms for the licensing of the Rhinomed platform technology and enables Columbia Care and Rhinomed to jointly develop a range of cannabinoid products targeting a wide range of clinical and consumer health needs in the United States.

The binding agreement (which the parties hope to complete in the next 90 days) will deal with the licensing of Rhinomed’s platform technology, intellectual property, product royalties and supply of technology, exclusivity and other commercial issues. The program will leverage Rhinomed’s nasal platform with development taking place in Columbia Care’s research and manufacturing facilities nationally.

The companies believe that nasally-delivered, dose-controlled, targeted medical cannabis formulations open up a new pathway and opportunity across a range of indications for this class of medication within the clinical and over-the-counter consumer health settings.

With licenses in 12 of the most populous states and territories, Columbia Care is positioned to offer its pharmaceutical quality cannabis-based medicines to more than half the US population over the next 24 months. Bose Launches Noise-masking “Sleepbuds”

Today, Bose announced the availability of its first ever noise-masking sleepbuds—tiny, wireless earbuds that are designed to block, cover, and replace the most common noises that interfere with sleep.

Bose sleepbuds are the smallest Bose product ever made. They come with 10 pre-loaded “sleeptracks” that mirror the frequencies of snoring, neighbors, dogs, traffic, and more, according to the company. They feature new patented ear tips for a snug, soft fit, and can run for up to 16 hours.

Bose sleepbuds are the first Bose product to use Bose noise-masking technology. They aren’t active noise cancelling headphones, they’re not in-ear headphones with an added feature, and they don’t stream music; according to Bose, “every last detail was optimized for one thing—better sleep, all night, every night.”

“Noise-masking is a science,” says Daniel Lee, systems engineer for Bose sleepbuds, in a release. “It’s more than ambient sound or white noise.
